George is one of Mushtaraka's rising stars at the P&I Correspondent heaven.
He has the “marine gene” in his blood. His family is from Klaipeda, Lithuania at the Baltic Sea. His grand dad was a naval architect and his father is a chief engineer. George decided to do things a little differently. He completed his Masters degree in Maritime law in the United Kingdom. During his time in the UK George was the only native Lithuania/Russian speaker. Upon completing his Master’s degree he spent some time in Beijing as an intern with a local law firm. In winter 2012 George joined the biggest shipping agency and logistics firm in Jebel Ali, Dubai as a claims executive.
In addition to regular P&I cases ranging from BL investigations to regular dry or wet cargo matters , inspections and related court disputes George has extensive experience in clearance, detention and arrest cases in UAE, Iraq and Sudan.
George handled also some of the UAE's spectacular cases, like a capsized vessel in one of the UAE's Ports, fire cases, numerous medical and crew related cases involving police in Fujairah and Dubai alike.
As cross boarder team with our Iraqi and Sudanese partners George and Capt. Larry Heron from our Jeddah office settled a number of difficult cases under fairly adverse circumstances, known in the maritime industries as the famous “Sugar Cases”.
